First post on the new blog!

If you've somehow stumbled across this site during your search for gout related topics, you must be fairly desperate for help!  Trust me - I know what it is like.  That is the point of me creating this site - to better help others control their gout without having to go through what I did.  As a fellow gout sufferer, I know exactly how it is to live with this crippling disease and how it affects all facets of one's life.  Just living a normal, day-to-day existence becomes extremely difficult when you're suffering through an attack.  As a person who enjoys backcountry skiing, hiking, biking and other outdoor pursuits, I realize just how painful gout can be and how frustrating it is when you can't ski after a two foot dump of snow due to a gout attack.  Using myself as the guinea pig, I will update this Home page frequently, tracking my progress in controlling this disease.  My ultimate goal is to be back on the slopes for the winter of 2010/11, the painful days of sliding a gout-affected foot in to a ski boot long behind me.  I hope that you find the information on this site useful.  There is a lot more to come and this site is most certainly still under construction!

Please check the 'About this Site' page for more information as to my intents with this site.
